Class notes in APA: Citing information from class
Last Updated: Aug 28, 2020 Views: 123

How you cite class material depends on which category the materials falls under:

  • If it cannot be retrieved (by the reader), don’t included in your reference list. Cite it in-text as "personal communication.”
  • If it can be retrieved, include it in your reference list. For example, materials found online, in a database, video lectures, PowerPoint slides etc. cite the source in text and in your reference list, as you would a similar online source,

Example reference for a retrievable source
