You can find newspaper articles using the following tools:

Page 1+

Search for articles from newspapers by keyword, title or author.

  1. Enter your search terms. By default, Page 1+ will filter your search to show only results that are Available in Library Collection.
  2. When viewing your search results, under ‘Resource Types’ on the left of the page, select Newspaper articles. This will narrow your results to news articles.

Note: A current College Network Account is required for off-campus searching.

Digital Resource Collections

You can search for newspaper articles within digital resource collections. Some collections, such as Canadian Major Dallies, contain only newspaper articles, but most contain other types of resources as well.

  1. Open the list of Databases A-Z from the Library website.
  2. Use the Database Type drop-down menu to filter your search to collections that contain newspapers.
  3. Choose a digital resource collection. Read the description for the collection. Some collections contain only newspaper articles, but most contain other types of resources as well. Click to open the collection.
  4. Conduct a search with your search terms within the collection. The collection might not automatically filter your results to articles from newspapers.
  5. Use the collection’s search limiters to show only newspaper articles if required.

Note: A current College Network Account is required for off-campus searching.
